I continue to be active in the Toronto Focal Forum and attend regular print review meetings every two weeks. I enjoy the feedback and candid comments and the quality of the prints presented.

This fall, I received two golds for St. James Cemetery and Autumn Sunrise and a silver medal for Life is a Blur and The Way Home (a black and white infrared experiment). Life is a Blur is shown above.

Shortly, I will post a new gallery with all the images presented to the Forum.

In 2012, I am starting the year out by finishing the review of my photos from 2012. This includes our exciting trip to see the wildflowers of Yunnan, China.

As 2012 unfolds, I will be focusing on event photography, portrait and people work as well as my continuing interest in nature and landscape photography.

At present, I have two workshops planned with Quest Art Gallery and School, entitled “Know Your Digital Camera with an intro to Editing”. The first workshop will be offered on May 17th. Check out www.questart.ca.

As well, I will be offerring workshops on wildflower photography and digitial photography at the Carden Nature Festival on the weekend of June 1-3rd. Check out www.cardenguide.com/carden-nature-festival.html.

In support of the Quest Workshop program, I will have the photo above on display at the Faculty show at Quest, from January 4 to March 3rd. Come to the opening on January 14th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

This year, Apple is withdrawing support for web hosting and I will revamp my web site and provide all new content by the spring.

I want to wish all my friends all the best for the New Year.

We had an eventful Christmas season as our son, Galen, married Pam Farmer, on December 22nd. We wish them both much happiness and joy in the future.

To all my friends, I wish you too all the best for 2012.

Digital Photography and Printing Workshops

Mark Kruse and I are pleased to announce our 2011 schedule of digital photography and printing workshops.

Designed for both the beginner and intermediate photographer/artist, our workshops teach the basics of photo editing software such as Photoshop Elements, and digital printing techniques and workflows. New for 2011 is “Adobe Lightroom, Workflow and Printing Techniques, a workshop for intermediate level users.

Offering a unique and valuable experience with lasting benefits, our workshops:

·     Are taught by practicing photographers.

·       Have been tested and refined throughout the past year and half.
·       Are limited in size, with a maximum of four participants per workshop.
·       Are very hands-on with short presentations and coaching from the instructors.
·       Give you an opportunity to make a fine art print(s) from your own image(s).
·       All you use one of the computers in the studio. No need for a laptop to participate.
Custom tailored workshops for small groups can also be arranged for your club or association.

Now is the time to perfect your photo editing and printing skills. The software is mature, the printing equipment is excellent, and the knowledge will last you for many years to come.
